Our reusable cloth nappies and accessories are designed in England and manufactured in an ethical facility near Shanghai, China.
Safety and transparency is a priority - each product undergoes four types of quality control and has third-party safety inspections to EU standards. The supply chain is audited by SEDEX®. Our chosen facility also manufactures for some of the world’s top baby brands.
The fabrics used to make Roam nappies and accessories are OEKO-TEX® certified. Although our manufacturers and fabrics are OEKO-TEX® certified, we are still required to make an application to have our final products labelled as OEKO-TEX® certified. We are in the process of these applications.
PUL, the waterproof polyester that forms the cover of our pocket nappy and wet bag, is made from REPREVE®. This innovative material is made from recycled post-consumer PET plastic bottles otherwise destined for landfill. REPREVE® is also OEKO-TEX® certified. REPREVE® is traceable through the Global Recycle Standard and is the only eco-performance fibre with U TRUST® verification to certify its recycled content claims.
We use official KAM snaps on all our products. They are BPA-free and have been tested for lead and phthalate content to comply with CPSIA regulations for children's products.
We are a company with sustainability at its core and are mindful of all we can do to reduce our environmental impact. Our products are imported via rail freight which emits over 80% less CO2 than air freight.
We are partnered with Ecologi to help compensate and offset our carbon footprint by planting trees and funding carbon reduction projects. A tree is planted for every order placed through roamnappies.com.
All our packaging, tape and stationary is sustainably sourced and is recyclable. We avoid plastic use across the board and our goods come from the manufacturer without any individual plastic packaging. You will receive your Roam order in a recyclable paper bag, wrapped in recycled tissue paper. Our wholesale orders ship in reused boxes, without any plastic packaging.
As a brand, we do not wish to work to a seasonal or ‘fast fashion’ schedule. Our aim is to create core products that are reliable and functional and always mindfully produced. We think that constant/monthly print releases are contradictory to the sustainable nature of cloth nappies.
At present, we are working towards twice-yearly collections. This should give us the ability to be creative, innovative and to collaborate with like-minded artists and designers to release exclusive prints and colours. Popular designs and collaborations will remain for sale as part of our core products where this is feasible and we have some limited/capsule releases in the pipeline.
